This is a recipe for Autumn olive white chocolate chip cookies. Fall is the season for autumn olives also known as autumn berries (so not to be confused with actual olives). The tart berries are finally sweet enough to eat and ready to be picked off the trees around September-November. The invasive species is common in the U.S. and can often be found in your backyard. One way to stop the invasive species is to kill the seed by heating it, and what better way than to bake it and eat it! In addition, it is one of the world’s best plant-based source of antioxidants, it is high in vitamins, and don’t toss the seed, it is high in omega-3 fatty acids.
Unfortunately, not many recipes are out there for this delicious berry, so I am here to share a few. These autumn olive white chocolate chip cookies are incredibly soft and have a cakey texture. Another delicious recipe for these berries is this Autumn Olives Cinnamon Loaf.
